Applying for a Studentship

What you need to apply

Applicant ID

You will need your applicant ID from your application for a place.   

Supervisor

You will need to have identified at least one supervisor who has agreed to supervise your project.  

Your Project Statement

You will need to answer questions about your project – depending on which studentship you choose to apply for. You can find more information about what is required below.

Project Studentship

For the Project Studentship describe in your own words in language accessible to a lay reader, your suitability for this intended PhD Project. The statement should specifically include details on your interest in the project and why you have chosen to apply.  The statement should also include how you will apply your current skills, knowledge and experience to undertake the PhD and the approach you would take to develop the project, and collaborate with the UK screen industries. (Maximum 4,000 characters including spaces). You can revise material from your application for a place but remember that the Studentship team will not have seen that document.  

Themed Studentship

For the Themed Studentship you will need to describe in your own words in language accessible to a lay reader, how your research project aligns to the Themes of Creative Bridges 26/27. Your summary might cover context; objectives; significance; method (how the work would be done). (Maximum 4,000 characters including spaces).

You can revise material from your application for a place but remember that the Studentship team will not have seen that document.

For both routes you are asked to provide details of any relevant circumstances regarding your application that you would like to draw to the attention of the Creative Bridges Panel, e.g. unusual education path, change of study direction(awards are based on academic merit, financial circumstances are not taken into account)) (1,250 characters maximum)

Decisions on the studentships will be taken by the Creative Bridges studentship committee, made up of academics from Leeds and Warwick.
