Creative Bridges

Connecting Diversity and Sustainability for UK Screen Industries

Creative Bridges brings together academic expertise and industry partnerships developed in Media, Communication, Creative and Cultural Industries, Design, Performance, Immersive Technologies and Digital Media at the University of Leeds and University of Warwick.

Together with our partners in screen, gaming and immersive media, we will develop the next generation of PhD research focused on diverse and sustainable futures for screen industries, the places they operate, the people who work in them and the audiences they produce for.

Our new Yorkshire-Midlands doctoral training centre is led by the School of Media and Communication at Leeds in collaboration with the Centre for Cultural and Media Policy Studies and the Centre for Interdisciplinary Methodologies at the Warwick creates a flexible research environment of partnerships on a strong university research base.

Creative Bridges brings together for the first time leading researchers from two world-class universities. PhD research will address industry demands for a vibrant ecosystem of creative livelihoods while addressing the future needs of the screen sector and its audiences. Aligning with UKRI investment in CoStar, XR Stories, XR Artists, Creative Catalyst, Creative Clusters, and informed by Creative Radar, Geographies of the Creative Industries, Creative PEC and InGame , training and research will focus on the UK creative economy.
